Javin DeLaurier is a 6’10”, 237 pound forward, who concluded his collegiate career after his 2019-2020 senior season with Duke Blue Devils. Javin played with the Hornets during their 2020-2021 preseason. Javin will be playing for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G-League this upcoming season
Javin had been an integral member of his NCAA squad since his Duke debut back in 2016. It wasn’t long after first hitting the court with Duke that he was recognized for his impressive defensive talent, and was recognized for his role off the court as well. In his final two years on the team, he was named as a captain and was a recipient of the Bill Krzyzewski Captains' Award in the 2019-20 season alongside fellow teammate Jack.
“I couldn't pick two more worthy individuals to lead our team than Javin and Jack,” said Coach Krzyzewski. “They have done everything we've asked, from the end of last year to now, to be ready to lead this team. Jack and Javin have earned the respect of our players and staff, and I'm proud to have them as captains.”
DeLaurier has proven to be an efficient scorer and is a career .706 shooter from the floor. In his junior year, he notched career highs in multiple categories, including minutes per game (16.3), rebounds per game (4.4), total blocks (50) and points per game (3.8).
We’re very proud to welcome Javin DeLaurier to the #DSMFamily as he prepares for the 2020 NBA draft! The leadership ability, hard work, heart and energy that Javin brings to the table are assets that make him a versatile asset on any successful squad.
